iBiza is considered a popular party destination, especially due to its legendary nightlife centered around two areas: Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni. iBiza clubs have become the center of the worldwide electronic music movement. The season traditionally begins at the start of June with the clubs opening parties and finishes on the first weekend of October with the Closing Parties. There are plans to extend this season.
iBiza is not all about the clubbing large portions of the island are registered as UN World Heritage Sites. Many photographers and commercial directors use the islands beauty as a back drop. The islands government is trying to change iBiza's image and is passing legislation to calm down the hedonism and encourage a quieter tourism scene. All new hotels have to be 5-star and all clubs have to close by 6am
That said when the clubs aren't open the island is deserted. If you visit out of season you'll find the island very quiet and the weather will be changeable.
Local sailers on iBiza are said to avoid Es Vedra due to their superstition. It's a mountain like rock rising out of the sea on the West Coast. It's claimed it's the third most magnetic place on earth behind the Bermuda Triangle and the North Pole.
