For most of those who've had children before, this little brief on clothes buying for your child may be old hat. But for the uninitiated and the well anticipated, here will be some simple advice for buying infant clothing.
One thing to keep in mind is that an infant is quite simple in function. All that anticipation and grief for the little sprout that just cries and emits body fluids, who would have worried so much in retrospect? But of course the precious is a lot more than that, but just like the simplicity in the baby's function, the clothes need to resemble those functions as well. Direct to the point, you need to have something with easy access to change diapers. This will be your new hobby for the next two years or so.
Snap clothing is definitely the thing to buy for infants. Of course that is what you are seeing a lot of, there is reason for that. There should be snaps or easy releases through the legs and around the neck area where the shirt can be pulled on and off with the release of a few snaps. Frilly ties and buttons may just delay you in the process and simply anger you (coming from personal experience).
Time Your Shopping
When you find out you or your spouse is pregnant, it may put you on a high and make you do something rash like immediately shop for seasonal baby gear. Stop for a moment and count to nine. Nine months that is. You may be trekking out there in the middle of June, but by the time the baby is born it will be during spring thaw. A bit nippy, so some warm infant clothing apparel may be more ideal.
Also, timing in the baby's growth is important. They grow like weeds, so keep in mind that price and simple style is good for the parents on a budget. Infant clothing lasts for about two months (depending on the size of the little one), so unless you want to deck out the baby then throw the threads out a few months later, it may be something to watch out for.
However, I know of new parents who simply want the best for their children and are happy to present their first born with the best of clothes. There's definitely no harm in this and there are many options for buying designer brands in infant clothing sizes these days.
