3 Ways to Spend Too Much Money on Ab Exercise Equipment

Having those sexy six pack abs you so desire is quite attainable once you understand how your body works and what has the most impact.

With there being so many ab miracle machines and what not on the market, it's pretty hard to find out which ones work for you and which ones will waste a lot of time and money, especially since most don't have an easy trial offer.

That's why I'm going to inform you of 3 ways to waste your hard-earned money on ab exercise equipment with the intent that you'll stay away from them.

1. Purchasing a gimmicky ab rocker contraption from a late night infomercial instead of investing your money in a stability ball.

This is what those ab gimmicks DON'T do:

- work your entire core (no matter what they say)

- promote belly fat loss

-give you better results than a basic crunch that can be done without the machine for free

What the stability ball DOES do:

-causes you to utilize even the deepest of your core muscles to balance yourself during your routines

- it's versatile enough to use in full body workouts that do promote belly fat loss

-reaches your ab muscles and your back muscles at the same time unlike a regular crunch can do

2. Not using the equipment you buy (or not using it enough).

So I know this seems very obvious but there are plenty of people out there that do this and let the machine sit in a spare room as clutter. Maybe they expected something else, maybe it's a pain to return it, maybe they couldn't make the time or get energy to use it; either way, it becomes a dust collector.

On the flip side, I've known people who buy ab machines, use them quite a bit at first, then here and there but then give up because they're not getting the results they were promised or they don't look like the professionally trained fitness model shown on the infomercial. (Think about it, do you really believe those fitness models got the bodies they have by using an ab roller gadget?)

3. Not eating the foods of a healthy diet.

My motto is DIET IS KING as far as fat loss and getting six pack abs is concerned. It is an element that is very much responsible for the amount of belly fat you have hiding (or not hiding) your abs.

If you take part in eating processed foods or fast foods, no matter how much you exercise, you will not get the results of six pack abs. You will frankly be wasting your energy burning off what you eat and nothing more. It's a constant, unfulfilling cycle that won't get you far.

On the other extreme, if you're not eating enough (because of a "low" whatever diet you're on or you've decided to starve yourself to lose fat) then I really need to tell you that you're doing a lot of harm to your body.

By not consuming enough food, you're not properly feeding your
muscles to maintain themselves. You end up losing all that muscle mass. It is the job of your muscles to convert fat to energy but if they aren't well-fed, your body uses them for fuel.

So basically, no matter how hard you work out on your stability ball, or any piece of exercise equipment for that matter, your body will always end up using the muscle you work hard at building for energy, not for fat loss.

If you really want to give up your time and money to ineffective methods of losing fat and toning your abs, then have at all the ab gimmicks in the world. But because you're reading this, I truly believe that is not you. Take this into consideration the next time you're looking to purchase ab exercise equipment and don't fall for the hype.
