Ways to Prevent and Treat Acne with the Right Colored Bath Towel

When our young niece Ally called from interstate to ask if she could live with us when she started College, we agreed immediately. She was very excited about the prospect of moving out of home and moving in with us. We hoped that we would all be as enthusiastic over the long term and had no idea of what we would learn, including lessons on ways to prevent and treat acne.

Ally is a popular student with lots of friends and an adoring boyfriend. She is studying Fashion and Design and loves clothes and cosmetics. She appears to have everything that any young 18 year old would want.

Ally is learning more about us and we are discovering more about her. She is largely independent and we acknowledge the need for her own space but we have needed to deal with a few delicate matters. The first of these was about ways to prevent and treat acne and maintain positive family relations.

Her first load of bathroom washing shocked us. Each towel was marked with stains from one end to the next. We were not impressed.

We tried to solve this dilemma together without luck. Ally appeared unwilling to discuss the ruined towels, saying that she always used white towels at home. As I shopped for new (white) towels the answer to this problem struck me like a bolt of lightning - peroxide was the problem.

Ally was treating her acne with an acne product containing peroxide. This was why she spent so long in the bathroom and only used white towels at home. This was one of the very private ways to prevent and treat acne that she was using and it was working.

We were a little perplexed with the way Ally had tried to cover up her acne medication until we remembered how much effort so many adolescents make to control the acne in their lives. Just when they want to look good and be popular, they break out. Finding and using the best acne treatment was important to Ally despite the condition of our towels.

Research by the American Academy of Dermatology clarifies the extent of teenage acne and adult acne. Acne outbreaks are experienced by around 80 percent of all people between the ages of 11 and 30 and the best known cause of acne is either our genetic makeup or the impact of our hormones. It is not surprising that there is an overwhelming need for ways to prevent and treat acne.

Ally is a smart young woman and had found correct information about acne control long before she came to live with us. We are impressed that she has found this way to prevent and treat acne and ignored the many myths about how to get rid of it.

We understand why Ally feels no need to discuss her acne solution with her relatives. We have no intention of raising this with her. We will just maintain the supply of white towels and continue to respect her privacy.
