Some more modern methods of purifying water include the use of iodine and chlorine tablets or drops. In some respects they are the ideal method but there will always be dissenting voices to be heard where chemical methods are concerned.
You really should give some serious thought to obtaining some form of water purification technology in your home to improve the quality of your water supply and thereby improve your health.
