Finding Opportunity is Easier Than You Think

Very often, you might find yourself thinking that you would do A and B, if only you were given the opportunity. But in reality, opportunity is all around you - if only you'd look and find it. Opportunity hunting is a simple task, once you learn the basics. Here's a field hunting guide of sorts to spotting opportunity and making sure you take it home with you.

Have a List of Things You Want

By knowing what you want, you can begin to find things in your life that are going to help you in this query. All you need to do is write down five or six things on a small piece of paper and then read it to yourself a few times a day. This is going to help your brain 'remember' this list whenever it is out and about in the world. Much like a field guide, this list is going to serve as a way to compare situations around you to see if they hold potential opportunities. For example, if you don't have it in your mind that you need new business cards, you might not recognize the opportunity that your new friend in the printing business might have for you.

Say Yes to More Than You Say No To

When you're constantly turning down offers to do things, you're slamming the door closed on opportunity. Much like the friend that's going to stop calling you if you never pick up, opportunities in the universe are going to become far fewer if you continue to ignore them. The universe wants to help you, but if you don't let it, you might end up with nothing to show for your efforts. So, whenever someone offers you something or offers to take you somewhere, make sure you say yes whenever you can. This is going to expose you to new people, new situations, and new chances to find the things you need and the connections you want to make certain dreams happen.

Talk to As Many People as Possible

Even if you're a bit of an introvert, you need to start talking to people in order to start finding new opportunities. The person in line ahead of you at the grocery store might be looking for someone like you and for someone with your talents, after all. But if you never speak up, they're never know. Try talking to people as much as you can - it gets easier. Talk about things you're interested in or perhaps even just questions you have. What's the worst that can happen? The person might not answer you - and since you didn't have an answer in the first place, you're no worse off for it, are you?

Opportunities are all over the place and they are looking for you to finally take notice. By saying yes, talking to more people, and simply knowing what you're looking for, you will find the doors to new possibilities and all of the things you need.
