Sheet music for guitar playing is different than that for the piano. When you are a student you will find that sheet music for guitar is much different that most other instruments. Playing a string instrument you are taught virtually not to think in terms of notes.

Don't get me wrong the serious technical guitarists knows how to read classical sheet music just as well as any piano player. Beginner guitar is not like that. Nonetheless, your average guitar player can't even look at a clef and tell you the notes on it. Most sheet music for guitars is actually written in tabs or chords. Basically, guitar tab sheet music, instead of telling you what note to play, tell you what string to play and what fret to finger. This tells you precisely how to play the song.

Sheet music for guitar is laid out in a general way and is not too specific. The player chooses just how to strum or even which finger to use. The sheet music is designed for guitar playing to accompany other instruments. It doesn't even tell you how fast or slow to play the songs.

Guitar playing is great because the players get to determine how the song is played. Somethings like, the fingerings are fixed but the strumming and pattern is up to you, the player.

Guitar sheet music is easy to find. There is lots of instruction everywhere you look on how to play guitar. I am sure there is a guitar store just around the corner from your home. Course are offers at music stores too.

You can always form your own band too. The girls all go nuts for the guitar players. The applause is infectious and maybe you can get paying gigs too.

You will also have a creative outlet with guitar playing. You can write as well as play your own songs and lyrics. Who knows? Could be you are the next George Strait.

Learning popular songs, after all, will teach you how to play guitar as surely as learning music theory will. The important thing is to play every day, and to immerse yourself in the music you love. Guitar sheet music is part of this, but the most important part is to play. Whether you take lessons or teach yourself from guitar sheet music, you should try to pick up your ax every day if possible. After all, practicing every day for 20 minutes is much better than practicing for three hours once a week. So learn to play the guitar.
