If you've just bought your PSP you are probably concerned about the prices of the games. One alternative to buying games is to download them from websites. You need to be careful however as some sites are illegal while others are legal. Many free sites have proved to be illegal whereas the membership style sites are legal.
You can either join one where you will be expected to pay either a yearly or monthly subscription fee or there are ones which just you require you to pay a one time life time membership fee. Both of these kinds of sites will then generally allow you unlimited access to all the games that they have stored within their databases.
In order for you to download any games to your PSP from these sites you will first of all need to download them on to your PC or laptop. This is really easy to accomplish as long as you make sure that you have the correct software on your PC or laptop that will allow you to download such games for your PSP.
All the membership sites we reviewed provided us with the right software to enable us to download PSP games and movies. The main difference we found was in the quality of the instructions. You can choose to pay monthly which will cost you around $15 per month or you can select a onetime payment which will give you lifetime membership from around $39. Once your payment has been confirmed you are then able to choose the games and movies you want and start to download them.
As soon as you have found the games that you are interested in then you can start to download them on to your PC or laptop. A good site will provide its members with easy to follow step by step instructions so that they know exactly what is required in order for them to get the game they have chosen downloaded on to their PC or laptop and then on to their PSP. Once the game has been downloaded on to the PC it is then time to download it to your PSP.
To complete the transfer to your PSP you have a choice of methods. The first and easiest is to connect your PSP to your PC with a USB cable. Your PSP should then appear as a device on your PC and you can simply transfer the files across. The second method is to use a compatible memory stick. Firstly copy the files from your PC to the memory stick then insert the memory stick into the PSP.
It is preferable to use the USB method where possible, as it is very rare for problems to occur. As soon as the cable is plugged in to both devices the PSP should appear on your PC. Then it is just a simple matter of dragging and dropping the files from the PC to the PSP. The only problems happen when you have used a file with the wrong extension or you have placed them into the wrong folder on the PSP.
Generally it is very simple to get PSP downloaded games and get them installed on your PSP. If you still aren't sure what to do then we have provided several reviews of different sites. You should be able to find the site that is right for you.
