It is easy to be captivated by the beautiful works that you see in a Wedding Photographers studio or on their website, but is that the style that you are seeking? Does their style match the theme of your wedding? Do you even know what you are looking at or what to look for?

There are many different styles of wedding photography as you have probably already seen. Some of the buzz words that you would have heard include: Photo Journalistic, Classical, and Modern.

The problem with all the different choice is that it makes it hard for a client to decide exactly the type of photos they want. Your wedding day is the most important day of your life and you want to make sure that if you are going to record it in a photographic format that it is done in a manner that you want. It is your first priority when selecting a wedding photographer to ensure you understand the style that they use. Get them to explain their style to you.

The biggest problem we encounter is often people simply dont know exactly what it is they want. The next problem is when people do know what they want there capacity to relate that to their photographer of choice never seems to come out as they intend.

Let me explain. You may or may not have an idea of the type of photos you want for your wedding day. Your photographer has his or her own style and their interpretation of your ideas can and usually does get lost in translation.

The result is disappointment on the clients side. The photographer will be happy because they got the shots that they wanted but the client has missed out on what they asked for. A checklist of questions will go a long way to ensuring that you get the photos you are seeking, and it will prevent the problems described to you above.

Write out all that you want in dot points and then formulate the questions to your photographer form there. Dont just settle for looking at their beautiful pictures in their studio or on their website, speak up and tell them exactly what you want.

Surf around and look at the different camera angles. Look at the different lighting. See how they position the guests and family for photos. Ask yourself if thats what you are seeking. Send an email asking what type of style the photographer is most comfortable with. See their other work to view their styles across the photography genres.

All of the above suggestions will help you develop an idea of what you are seeking from your wedding photos. Remember that after your big day passes your photos will be amongst your most valued possessions.

Good luck seeking that elusive Wedding Photographer and may your marriage be a long and lasting one.
