Windows Mobile 5 was a great relief to PDA owners. In previous versions, if the battery ran dead, then all information would be lost. Mobile 5 eliminated this by storing the information on a flash drive.
It was this evolution of the cell phone that had many companies altering their selling tactics. Most companies elected not to pursue the pocket PC, since Smartphones were becoming more of a mainstream choice.
The Windows mobile Smartphone is a combination of the cell phone and the personal digital assistant. The PC software is there in the cell phone so it can be used as a personal computer when on the go. It was this evolution of the cell phone that had many companies altering their selling tactics. When it comes to choosing brand, you need to know what brands are on the market, then IPAQ, PalmOs, Blackberry and Hewlett Packard models all make great Smartphones, just to name a few.
